What not to wrap
Wax wraps are good at a lot of things. A few things they're bad at, and we'd rather tell you now.
Raw meat and fish
You can't wash a wrap in hot water, so it can't be cleaned well enough after raw meat or fish. Use a lidded container for those.
Anything hot
Heat softens the wax. Let leftovers cool before you cover the bowl, and keep wraps away from the stove, the dishwasher and the microwave.
Very wet or oily food
A wrap is fine over a bowl of cut fruit. Wrapped directly around something dripping in oil, it gets slick and loses its hold sooner.
